Sammaditthi Meditation Grove is a new meditation centre guided by Ven. "Bhante Lim" and Ven. "Bhante Balavuddho", who have had many years of experience in Forest Dhutanga at Thailand and Malaysia. They are also have been trained by the famous meditation master Venerable "Ajahn Suk" from Pong village at Klian Intan, Perak, Malaysia.
Our journey began with six fully spirited devotees who have the desire to start a small meditation group. Their intention is to further their meditation experience and thats the beginning of their path. They invited to monks from Kelantan; Ajahn Lim Dipako dan Ajahn Balavuddho to guide them with the intention to learn from them. With limited time and resources they rented an old wooden shack in Kg. Benggali (off Jalan Tiong) Sungai Petani. It was formerly a farm house in the middle of farm lands. A river flows not far from the front of the shack.
Reality hit the two eager monks after a long and tiring 5-hour journey from Kelantan in July 2008. The monks found that the area is not conducive at all to conduct meditation classes nor to spend their vassa (rainy retreat)
The wooden shack is located is a swampy area that is prone to flash floods. The poor drainage and the rubbish that constantly blocks the river flow constitute to the flash floods that occur quite often.
That pose quite a challenge to the monks the spirits of those involved. But their spirits remained unwavered. The two monks have to face the challe...
